Fair questions.
The short version: it's a real editor, it's really free to start, and your routines are really yours.
What is Choreo, in one sentence?
Sheet music for the body: a beat-grid editor where you write choreography down — moves, counts, formations, parts — instead of keeping it in your head and your camera roll.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the app and start choreographing — the free editor runs in your browser and saves to your device. You only create an account if you want cloud sync and sharing on a paid plan.
Is the free plan actually the full editor?
Yes. Beat grid, lanes, moves, formations, recording — the whole writing experience, with no time limit. Paid plans add the collaborative layer (sync, share links, parts on other people's phones), not the editor itself.
Where do my routines live? Who can see them?
Choreo is local-first. On the free plan your work lives on your device and nowhere else — nobody at Choreo can see it, because it never leaves your machine. If you sync or share on a paid plan, only the people you send a link to can open a routine.
Do I need to know how to count music?
If you can count to eight, you're qualified. Choreo lays the 8-counts over your song for you — you drop moves where they belong and the grid keeps everyone honest.
How does my crew see the routine?
You send one link. Each dancer opens it on their phone and gets the routine — and their own part view with just their moves, counts, and spots. No installs, no accounts for them.
Can I use it for a wedding dance?
That's what the $59 Wedding unlock is for: one event, full choreography tools, parts for the whole wedding party, and clip collection (up to 60 seconds each) hosted for six months. One payment, no subscription. See pricing.
We're a studio — how does that work?
The Studio plan is per-instructor seats ($12/instructor/mo) with a shared workspace for all classes and routines, and white-glove onboarding included. We're currently taking a limited number of studios into the Founding Studio program.
What happens to my work if I stop paying?
It stays yours. Every routine remains on your device and fully editable on the free plan. You lose the cloud features — sync, share links, hosted clips — never the choreography itself.
What devices does it run on?
Any modern browser on desktop, laptop, or tablet for writing; dancers can view their parts on any phone. There's nothing to install.
